Most of the early drawings and one painting shown here, with their comic and visionary wildness, were made when Ann was in the Masters in Painting program at the University of California, Davis. They reflect the influence of the Bay Area Funk movement, which included several of Ann’s instructors: Roy De Forest, Robert Arneson, and William Wiley.
