The bulk of Ann’s work in this period continued to reflect her training at Davis while also incorporating the influence of such painters as the Mexican muralists of the 20th century, and a variety of other painters, from Edward Hicks in the 19th century, particularly his Peaceable Kingdom series, to such 20th century artists as Alice Neel, Max Beckmann, Peter Saul, Gladys Nilsson, and Philip Guston.
